The first part of the trip to Ninh Binh is a boat ride in TAM COC, where breathtaking limestone karsts rise out of the verdant paddy fields, evoking memories of Guilin, China, and Vietnam’s Halong Bay, hence the moniker “halong-bay-on-land.”
We’ll visit the Bich Dong Pagoda to continue our exploration of NINH BINH. drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon While traveling, make a stop at Hoa Lu, a location that was once the residence of the kings in the tenth century and is now well-known for the wooden reliefs found in the shaded Dinh and Le temples. Halong Bay, the crown jewel of the Gulf of Tonkin, is three hours away by car. UNESCO recognized it as a Natural World Heritage site in 1994 and 2006. The route will go through rural villages and the verdant paddy fields of the Red River delta, where industrious farmers are working hard to plant seedlings or plough buffaloes. When you get to Halong, register for the overnight cruise.
Explore the breathtaking splendor of this “Descending-dragon” bay, which is made up of karst grottoes and thousands of oddly carved limestone boulders. Following a meal on board, we can explore the Grottos, take a dip or go kayaking, pass by floating homes, and go up close to the islets to take in their beauty.
